Motorcycle Riding in the UK

Are you looking for the best places to see in the UK for motorcycle riding? This can be a very tricky question, as there is so much to choose from! I am going to highlight some of my favourite places to see when travelling on your motorcycle in the UK.

Here we start with the Isle of Wight. I have always loved this island and have spent many happy years cruising around on my Harley. The best places to see here are at High Peak and St. Michael’s Mount, especially if you like to ride on horseback! There are also some beautiful beaches at Bude, The Keys and Tintagel. If you enjoy exploring then you will love the Goathland and Belfry National Parks. Whilst on your holiday motorbike journey here you should take the time to explore the Llangollen Valley where you can see rarer wildlife and experience a unique landscape.

A few hours north of Manchester is the city of Burnley. Burnley is well known for its clay pigeon shooting range and for horse riding. This area is a national park, so there are many places to see whilst riding here on your motorcycle. There is also a great town nearby called Birstall which has many interesting attractions including the famous Clough Castle.

Not too far from Manchester is the popular Harley Davidson capital of the UK, Harleypoint. With stunning views over the city and surrounding areas, this is definitely a place you should hit up while you are out touring the UK on your motorbike. There is of course the iconic Harley trail to follow, but I suggest checking out some of the areas around Harleypoint. Some of the best spots include Twyford, Chatteris and Blyde Partnership.

Finally, we have to finish with a few words on cruising the English countryside. One of the best places to do this is through the Lake District. The Tameside area is full of rustic villages with lakes surrounded by cliffs. For riding, you can either book a tour or simply pedal along the lakes and valleys. There are many riding areas to choose from, including some of the best, wildest, most challenging trails.

So there you have it. It’s not too difficult to organise a great touring holiday in the UK. Motorcycle touring can be extremely affordable, so why not try a route through one of the countries top two countries and see how you like it?
